Alex Carrillo, Class of 1973. Rest In Peace, Brother...!!!
Alex J. Carrillo "Cuchi" Alex Carrillo was born in Salinas, California on September 24, 1954, the first child of Alexander John and Henrietta M. Carrillo. His last day was spent among the love of his parents, whom he considered his best friends, laughing and talking deep into the night. "Cuchi", as he was affectionately called, frequently traveled from Tucson to his parents' Chandler home to enjoy a good laugh and a beer with his dad and a visit on the patio with his mom. Alex died in his sleep on March 7, 2006, as a result of injuries sustained during a February 12 robbery attempt. He was 51. Cuchi was a generous spirit who took great joy from the many friendships in his life. With his infectious personality he earned new friends quickly and also cherished those cultivated during his youth. Alex graduated from Regina Cleri Seminary High School in 1973 and attended St. John's Seminary in Camarillo, CA. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Alex enjoyed his work at First Health, in the Mailroom and then in the Facilities Department. He took pride in working with such a great group of people. Cuchi loved his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews without measure and could be counted upon to rig the piñata just right. Left behind to mourn and love him forever are his grandmother Carmen Padilla of Atascadero, CA, parents Alex and Henrietta Carrillo, brothers and sisters Altagracia Carrillo (Abbas Fayazi-Azad) of Tucson, Leo Carrillo (Dawn) of Little Falls, MN, Joseph Campa (Catherine Zasada) of Gilbert, AZ, Sandra Lenoski (Michael) of Pleasant Hill, CA and Martin Carrillo (Jacqueline) of Tucson, and many beloved nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Bueler Funeral Home, 14 W Hulet Dr., Chandler, AZ 85225 (480-963-6351), from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held Friday, March 17 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 230 W Galveston St., Chandler, AZ at 11:00 a.m. A burial service with military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at National Cemetery, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd., Cave Creek, AZ.
