God Help Us…

I don’t want to be political, I really don’t. But the world is a mess, and if people don’t step up to perform their civic duty, they will have no ground to stand on when things crumble further. The stakes have never felt so high. The headlines show a fractured society—divided, struggling, hurting. We've watched the world around us grow darker, the voices more extreme, the problems seemingly insurmountable.

But what are we doing about it? Are we watching from the sidelines, shaking our heads, or are we participating, making the small changes we can? History has shown us time and again that silence is dangerous. Without the voices of reason, of compassion, and of hope, chaos has free reign. And even though one person’s effort may feel like a drop in the ocean, if everyone refuses to make their drop, the tide will never change.

There is a part of me, like many others, that hopes for a miracle. We’ve seen miracles before, small and big, and we believe in the power of prayer and divine intercession. We’ve witnessed moments where faith moved mountains, where belief brought healing, where unity saved nations. And we pray for that now. We pray that the divisions among us will fade, that our shared humanity will prevail, and that the values we hold dear—kindness, respect, love—will once again define us.

We don’t just pray for ourselves. This moment feels bigger than any of us individually. We pray for our children, for their futures, for the chance to hand them a world where they can grow up safe, loved, and full of hope. They deserve a world that gives them the chance to thrive, not one that burdens them with our mistakes.

So we pray, and we act. We vote. We speak up when it’s hard. We reach out when others turn away. We remember that every small act, every decision, every conversation adds up. The world is not beyond saving, but it requires all of us, in every small way, to be brave, to be kind, and to believe that change is not just possible—it’s necessary.

So we pray in earnest,... God, help us.
